You may have noticed that our front lawn is adorned with a “For Sale” sign. However, we are CONTINUING TO OPERATE AS NORMAL!

We (Marcel & Heather) have made the tough and bittersweet decision to relocate to St. Louis in support of our family. We took over this historic restaurant and bar in 2014 and it’s been the best years of our life—even during the unusual circumstances of 2020! We are now looking for a new owner to take over the business.

If you’ve considered owning a restaurant, Black Forest is the ideal business. It is solidly profitable—in spite of COVID—and includes a highly maintained building and equipment, well-developed procedures, a fantastic location, loyal customers, and the best team of employees in the industry—not to mention its rich history and beautiful architecture. There’s a beautiful, fully furnished living space on the second level, which can be rented out for additional income. The work is at times demanding (hello, summer!) but incredibly fulfilling and financially rewarding.

With Care & Caution

Our dining room and bar are OPEN inside!  What does this mean? Here are just a few things that we promise our customers when they feel ready to dine inside:

• We will continue to be a leader in food safety and sanitation practices where all of our team is trained in safe food handling practices and a Certified Food Protection Manager is scheduled for every shift.
• All staff will pass a health check or complete a health survey prior to each shift.
• All seating options will comply with the appropriate and mandated social distancing guidelines.
• Hand sanitizer stations will be available upon entry and exit.
• We will clean and sanitize common areas and surfaces regularly, as well as frequent touch points such as doors.
• Guests will have the option of a disposable menu, use of their phone for online menu, or a regular menu, which will be sanitized after every use.
• All tables and chairs will be cleaned and sanitized after every use.
• Place settings, utensils, menus, and condiments will either be single-use or cleaned and sanitized after every use. Silverware will be wrapped in a napkin for protection.
• Floor markings near the host stand will assist in identifying 6 foot distances

We will continue our online ordering for curbside pick up with our dedicated parking area for food pick-up. If we find volume of in-dining is reaching a level where a wait is required, we will consider moving to a reservation system.

As with everything these days, things may change. We thank you for your patience as we adjust and adapt to ensure safety for our staff and YOU!


Curbside Service Available

We are continuing to offer CURBSIDE pick-up.  Order online at or call ahead to place your order. You’ll be asked to pay with credit card. Pull up in our Curbside Parking area (back of the building) and we’ll bring the food directly to you!

If you are house-bound, or unable to drive to us, please inform our staff and we will arrange for complimentary DELIVERY up to 15 miles.

Black Forest Owners & Staff Earn Awards

Marcel and Heather Biró, owners of Black Forest Pub & Grille, were named recipients of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association’s (WRA) Champion of Restaurant Entrepreneurship (CORE) Award for this region of the state.

The CORE Award recognizes an owner/operator for their contributions to Wisconsin’s restaurant industry in the following areas: demonstrated passion for and success in their business, committed community involvement and support of WRA through membership, a demonstration of strong leadership skills, business acumen, and a knack for moving the industry forward as innovators, as well as well-respected employers.

Black Forest Pub & Grille server, Rachel Gee, was the recipient of the WRA Best of the House – Front of the House Award for this region of the state.  Rachel was recognized as an “inspiring example of an employee who demonstrates professionalism in their job and helps to further the positive image of the foodservice industry in Wisconsin.”  The award also recognizes Rachel’s exhibition of outstanding customer service, strong work ethic and leadership skills.
